As part of our commitment to encouraging more women into the construction industry, Chartway Partnerships Group is supporting National Women in Construction Week (2nd – 7th March), which highlights the important role women play across the sector.
To mark the week, we are highlighting members of our team, including Senior Planning Manager, Elouise, who recently joined Chartway.
A career in construction was not Elouise’s original plan. After studying law, she joined a local authority graduate scheme in planning, where she discovered a profession that combines creativity, technical expertise and working closely with people and communities.
More than ten years later, Elouise brings extensive experience from local government, consultancy and national housebuilding to her role at Chartway. Speaking about what attracted her to join the business, Elouise said the opportunity to be part of a purpose-driven organisation delivering new homes for everyone was a key factor. She also believes women bring an important perspective to placemaking, particularly when considering how safe and welcoming places feel for those who live there.
Offering advice to women considering a career in the industry, Elouise said:
” Do it, It’s varied, fast-paced and incredibly rewarding.”
National Women in Construction Week is an opportunity for us to recognise the talented women helping shape our future and the communities we help build.
If you are interested in starting a career in the industry, Women into Construction is a great place to begin exploring opportunities.
