Team Chartway recently headed to Folkestone Beach for a volunteering day, spending the afternoon helping to keep this much-loved community space clean, safe and enjoyable for everyone.
With support from Folkestone & Hythe District Council, who kindly provided the litter pickers, collection bags and arranged for the rubbish to be collected afterwards, the team set off across the beach to remove litter that could otherwise harm wildlife and the local environment.
Working together, colleagues collected bags of rubbish, including plastic bottles, bottle tops, food packaging and other waste, making an immediate and visible difference to the coastline.
The volunteering day was a fantastic opportunity for colleagues from across the Group to come together, spend time outdoors and make a positive contribution to the local community. It was also a reminder that even small actions can have a lasting impact on the places we all enjoy.
After the beach clean, the team enjoyed a well-earned fish and chips by the sea before getting creative decorating shells. The day finished with fantastic entertainment from the local school community, making it the perfect way to round off a rewarding day.
A big thank you to everyone who took part, and to Folkestone & Hythe District Council for supporting the event.
At Chartway, we’re proud to support the communities where we live and work, and we look forward to taking part in more volunteering opportunities in the future.
