Mission Zero: 2031

The eight pillars of the Chartway Sustainability Strategy

Our commitment to sustainability is demonstrated through our MissionZero: 2031 strategy. We have identified eight areas in which we are targeting improvements we can report on each year to show progress within our sustainabilty journey.

Addressing the challenges and opportunities posed by climate change through proactive measures.

Ensuring responsible use of resources and minimising waste across the Group.

Supporting the growth and training of green jobs and fostering a sustainable economy.

Meeting all regulatory requirements and addressing societal and Governance expectations.

Balancing efficiency and effectiveness in our operations to ensure we manage our carbon impact across the Group.

Pursuing a wide range of sustainability initiatives to achieve meaningful and sustained impact.

Decarbonising our Supply Chain by introducing a Procurement Charter for partners to sign-up to.

Upholding the highest standards of Health, Safety & Environmental practices.

Our roadmap to Net Zero Carbon Homes

We are committed to measuring and reporting our carbon footprint in line with our Net Zero targets. We continuously improve our procedures and strive to decarbonise our activities. This includes identifying development opportunities, fostering innovation, and driving continual business improvement.

We are working towards achieving Net Zero / Low Energy Housing, using the NDSS standard as a baseline. By future-proofing our designs, we ensure that our homes are versatile, sustainable and aligned with our clients’ objectives.

From 2023, we will have the capability to deliver Net Zero / Low Energy Homes (EPC A) and by 2031, all our homes will be Net Zero Carbon.

Chartway and Biodiversity in action

Chartway Partnerships Group is excited to announce our new partnership with Bee Conservation. In Summer 2023, we installed the first Chartway bee hive at our Head Office in Kent as part of our commitment to biodiversity.

Introducing the Chartway Bee, our new emblem symbolizing our dedication to preserving ecosystems. You’ll see the Chartway Bee across our business, with plans to extend beekeeping to our development sites and produce our own Chartway Honey in the future!

To celebrate, Team Chartway members, including Alex Markwick and Julie Brown, volunteered at the hive installation, learning about the vital role of pollinators.

In 2024, our Chartway Bee ambassadors will visit schools to inspire the next generation on biodiversity and the built environment.

Watch our bee hive installation video below, and let’s “bee” the change!
