Chartway is pleased to announce it has secured Reserved Matters Planning Approval from Wealden District Council for the delivery of 250 new homes at the 35-acre Friday Street Farm site in Langney, East Sussex.
The Friday Street Farm project, which received outline planning permission from Eastbourne Borough Council and Wealden District Council in 2022, reflects the Chartway commitment to create inclusive and sustainable communities, aligned to our vision of providing new homes for everyone.
On completion, the project will include energy efficient new homes incorporating renewable energy technologies, areas of publicly accessible open space including a new sports playing field, community allotments and play areas. The approval received 9 January 2025 follows on from an invaluable early-stage public consultation event held with the local community in Spring 2024 which shaped initial design concepts, together with continued collaboration from Wealden and Eastbourne planning teams on bringing our scheme through the statutory planning process.
Julian Moat, Planning Director at Chartway Partnerships Group:
“Securing Reserved Matters Planning Approval is an exciting step forward for this strategically significant project. Friday Street Farm builds on our existing presence in East Sussex, complementing our ongoing work in Hastings, where we are regenerating a brownfield site to deliver 151 mixed-tenure new homes. I’d like to thank all teams involved in this project for their dedication and hard work in delivering this high-quality scheme through the planning process.”
